There is no national railway and no private railway systems

- Guatemala Railway Museum - The Museum appears to be open Tuesday to Sunday - but a check is recommended. They do not appear to have a website, but are active on Instagram and Facebook.
About once a month they also offer short rides of either 15 minutes in duration, or 30 minutes. The 15 minute rides stay inside the railway yard area with a round trip distance of 2.9km. The 30 minute rides are believed to exit the yard area. Events with rides are usually advertised about a week in advance.

Guatemalan President Bernardo Arévalo announced in March 2024 that an underground metro line will be built in Guatemala City and the first stage will be opened in mid-2027.
