The new 4.8km Jamuna Railway bridge opened on 12 February 2025, with formal inauguration on 18 March 2025. The old Bangabandhu bridge will no longer be used. The East Railway Station will be renamed "Faydabad," and the West Railway Station will be rebranded as "Ibrahimabad."
