Tren Solar de la Quebrada was offiaclly launched on 18 June 2025 and inaugurated over the 35 km, between Volcán, Tumbaya, Purmamarca and Maimará, on 19 June 2024.
From 16 November 2023, Tren de las Sierras regional services, in the northern city of Córdoba, have been extended 34 km to serve Capilla del Monte, following the completion of renovation work on the metre-gauge line from Valle Hermoso.

From 16 November 2023, Tren de las Sierras regional services, in the northern city of Córdoba, have been extended 34 km to serve Capilla del Monte, following the completion of renovation work on the metre-gauge line from Valle Hermoso.

According to newspaper reports the last train from Bragado to Pehuajó ran on Sunday 27 October 2024. Services remain 3x weekly from Buenos Aires Once to Bragado.

The 42km tourist line marketed as Trensolar de la Quebrada opened between Volcán and Maimará on 18 June 2024 with 'connections' to Tilcara, presumably a bus until the section opens.
