  • AMTRAK - AMTRAK lines from Chicago, Illinois cross Indiana en route to Cincinnati, Cleveland, Detroit, Port Huron and Grand Rapids.
  • Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District - This is the Chicago South Shore and South Bend Railroad. It runs 90.1 miles from Millennium Station, Chicago, Illinois to South Bend Airport,South Bend, Indiana, crossing the state border just west of Hammond Gateway which is at 20.8 miles. The railway is standard gauge and electrified at 1500V DC Overhead.

  • Nickel Plate Heritage Railroad - The Nickel Plate Express operates on 12.4 miles of track between Hobbs Station at Forest Park in Noblesville and Atlanta.
  • Indiana Railway Museum - The museum operates the 10-mile stretch of the line between French Lick and Gradman station as a heritage railroad known as French Lick Scenic Railway.
