Note: the railway in Ecuador became bankrupt in 2020 and ceased operating. Money is being raised to restart operations, hopefully in 2023.

Recent Changes

The Quito Metro official inauguration was on 21 December 2022 and commercial service started on 2 May 2023. However the system was shut down on 11 May 2023, after technical problems.

Future Changes

The Quito Metro is now not expected to re-open until December 2023 with full operation expected in the second quarter of 2024.
