The Quito Metro official inauguration was on 21 December 2022 and commercial service started on 2 May 2023. However the syet was shut down after problems and is now expected to re-open until December 2023 with full operation expected in the second quarter of 2024.

The standard gauge Cuenca Tramway opened 25 May 2020.
