National Railway Operator

Established in 2011, Qatar Rail is responsible for the country’s rail network, which at present consists of the Doha Metro and the Lusail Tram, and also the future Long Distance Passenger and Freight Rail project.

  • Doha Metro: three lines, with an overall length of 76 km, and 37 stations
  • Education City Tram; A 12 km light rail west of Doha.
  • Lusail Tram: a 39 km light rail network north of Doha. The first phase, a 6 station, 6 km section of the Orange Line, opened on 1 January 2022.
