Missouri is unusual in that it contains the AMTRAK railroad station for Kansas City, most of which is in the state of Kansas.

    • Texas Eagle Operates Chicago - St.Louis - San Antonio - Los Angeles entering Missouri from Illinois before St.Louis-Gateway. After a station call at Poplar Bluff the train leaves the state and enters Arkansas.
    • Southwest Chief Operates Chicago - Kansas City - Los Angeles. The train runs through the northwest corner of the state entering after Fort Madison, Iowa, calling at La Plata and Kansas City-Union before leaving into Kansas.
