• Trinity Railway Express (TRE) Operates services between Fort Worth T&P and Dallas EBJ Union. There are plans to extend the commuter rail line 2.1 miles south from the Fort Worth Texas & Pacific (T&P) Station, where TEXRail currently terminates, to the proposed Near Southside Station in the Fort Worth Medical District. • The A-Train Map and timetable at the link. The line runs 21 miles from the Denton County Transportation Center to Trinity Mills where it connects with the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Green Line into Houston.
• CapMetro Rail CapMetro Rail is a hybrid rail (light rail with some features similar to commuter rail) system that serves the Greater Austin area in Texas between Downtown and Leander. Branded The Red Line, a map is on the link at the beginning of this entry.

Tourist Lines

• The Austin Steam Train Association also known as the Austin & Texas Central Railroad or ASTA, is a heritage railroad based in Cedar Park, Texas, that operates passenger excursion trains over ex-Southern Pacific (SP) tracks between Cedar Park and Burnet owned by CapMetro. The Bertram Flyer runs between Cedar Park and Bertram, while the Hill Country Flyer runs the full 33 miles (53 km) between Cedar Park and Burnet. ASTA excursions share trackage with CapMetro Rail commuter service and Austin Western freight trains.
• Forest Park Miniature Railroad is located at Fort Worth’s Trinity Park and TCU/Zoo area and offers a 5-mile (8 km) round-trip on a loop.
• The Galveston Island Trolley is a heritage streetcar network in Galveston, Texas operated by Island Transit. Total network length is 6.8 miles (10.9 km) and streetcars are diesel powered (hence streetcars rather than trolleys).
• Grapevine Vintage Railroad - Excursions run from Grapevine Main Street station on TEXRail tracks to North Side from where it runs on freight line to Fort Worth Stockyards. The train reverses and runs a separate excursion approximately 6 miles south along the Trinity River to the 8th Avenue Yard of the Fort Worth and Western Railroad.
• Texas Transportation Museum. The Longhorn and Western Railroad a standard gauge heritage railroad that operates on Museum property with no connection to the general rail system. The mainline runs 0.33-miles (0.54 km) from the east and west ends of the property.
• The Six Flags & Texas Railroad is an amusement park heritage railroad in Arlington, Texas. The railway comprises a one-mile (1.6 km) loop on 3 ft (914 mm) gauge tracks.
• Texas State Railroad also referred to as the Lone Star and Eastern Railroad, is a historic 25 mile (40 km) heritage railroad between Rusk and Palestine, Texas.

Metro and light rail systems

• TEXRail map and timetables can be found here. The route is from Fort Worth T&P to DFW Airport Terminal B station.
• Dallas Area Rapid Transit has four light rail lines in Dallas.
• METRORail is Houstons light rail system. There are three lines.
• El Paso Streetcar. The system covers 4.8 miles (7.7 km) (round trip) in two loops from Chihuahuita to Kern Place, serving Downtown El Paso and University of Texas at El Paso along the way. Although using heritage streetcars, operation is daily and part of the public transport system operated by Sun Metro. Tracks are standard gauge and the overhead electrification is 650V DC.
• The M-Line Trolley is a heritage streetcar line in the Uptown neighborhood of Dallas, Texas. The 4.6 mi (7.4 km) line runs along McKinney Avenue between West Village and Klyde Warren Park before leaving McKinney to service the Dallas Arts District. It connects to the DART light rail system at Cityplace/​Uptown on the northern end and St. Paul on the southern end. The overhead electrification is 600V DC and tracks are standard gauge. To avoid confusion with the Dallas Streetcar, a separate modern streetcar operating in northern Oak Cliff, M-Line vehicles are typically referred to as "trolleys" or "cars", not "streetcars".
